Industrial Engineer II

Position Overview

The Industrial Engineer II supports manufacturing of products for medical devices with work including Operational systems development, process flow, operational needs and process efficiencies. Leads Capacity analysis, Layout management, Systems support, Lean programs and Improvement projects. the IE IIalso has a project management role for standardization projects supporting the operational excellence goals. Job duties:
  • Designs and develops operational systems processes for new products, product changes and enhancements.
  • Improves process efficiencies and product flow.
  • Leads cross-functional teams as part of operational activities and excels in managing projects with minimal supervision.
  • Manages operational systems including training of operators and coordination with production planning.
  • Analyzes operational data and improves processes to assure manufacturing demands are met on a consistent basis.
  • Ability to set-up and initiate new manufacturing line(s); including purchasing, implementing and creating layout improvements.
  • Interfaces with other departments to solve production problems.
  • Analyzes data and improve processes to assure robust/repeatable manufacturing processes.
  • Confers with appropriate departments, resources, and/or outside services to prepare process modifications, clarify problems and develop processes.
  • Manage process validation and product transfer activities across different manufacturing facilities.
  • Review and develop manufacturing documents (MP, Routers, BOM, etc.).
  • Performs Capacity Analysis with reports and recommendations.
  • Leads cost reduction projects obtaining the metrics and running the Lean tools.
  • Six Sigma Projects/Kaizen Events/Evaluate Production Improvement ideas.
  • Creates all layouts for lines using “AutoCAD” and “Sketch-up” software.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range:

$65,000 - $90,000 (salary could be higher based on education, experience or skill set)

    1. Bachelors degree in industrial, mechanical or closely related field of engineering is required.
    2. Must have three (3) to five (5) years of related engineering experience.
    3. Knowledge of Lean principals.
    4. Statistical Knowledge.
    5. Working knowledge of lean manufacturing methodology.
    Desired Qualifications
    1. Process simulation software as Arena or similar.
    2. Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.
    3. Good problem solving and conflict management skills.
    4. Ability to solve complex operational problems.
    5. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    6. Must be able to work under minimal supervision.
    7. Working knowledge of process flow, value stream analysis, operations demands and operator requirements.
    8. Computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Statistical Software (Minitab/JMP), Drawing/SolidWorks.
    9. Proven knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma techniques.
    10. Strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
    11. Project Management Skills.
