Position Overview

The Senior Manager of Accounting performs advanced-level and managerial responsibilities as required to support multiple legal entities operating in multiple countries/languages as well as managing multiple different stakeholders leveraging Hyperion. Job duties:
  • Maintains a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
  • Ensures all transactions are in compliance with IFRS and posted in a timely manner.
  • Ensure accounts are properly reconciled with documentation to support account balances.
  • Maintains documentation to support account balances in a manner that facilitates the efficient review and audit of books and records.
  • Ensures all financial transactions are properly recorded with sufficient documentation to support the business purpose of the transactions.
  • Ensures an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
  • Ensures the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
  • Leads continuous accounting simplification and standardization.
  • Collaborates with the other finance managers/directors to support overall goals and objectives.
  • Works with the internal and external stakeholders to ensure clean audits.
  • Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to build monthly financial reporting tools with-in Hyperion Financial Management (HFM).
  • Provide technical solution expertise and oversight to the HFM Finance functional work stream.
  • Advanced Hyperion (HFM) knowledge in understanding business requirements and translating into successful financial reporting tools.
  • Define and solution the HFM strategy, identifying solutions that meet the business requirements and enable the benefits desired.
  • Utilize new accounting systems in order to gain the effective and efficient reporting and month end close.
  • Supports internal stakeholders with special projects and workflow process improvements.
  • Prepares and completes action plans and implements those plans to enable the business to achieve its objectives.
  • Mentor and manage staff.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
    2. Minimum eight (8) years of relevant experience.
    3. Advanced understanding of business strategy, accounting strategy and consolidation.
    4. Background in finance or technology with functional expertise within the HFM application.
    Desired Requirements
    1. CPA or CMA.
    2. Experience in Life Sciences industry.
