Staff Engineer/ Project Group Lead

Lead engineers with entry level to junior level experience in researching new ideas and technologies and establish robust manufacturing processes. Ability to work in a hands-on manner with engineers in resolving manufacturing issues. Work closely with R&D, Quality, and Regulatory in supporting the development of new products and manufacturing processes to achieve a smooth, successful transfer to Manufacturing Engineering and Production for launch.
  1. Leads group of individuals of varying technical experience from entry level to junior level on projects of defined scope and diversity
  2. Directs subordinates toward clear company objectives in an efficient and effective manner
  3. Collaborates with all departments and other associates within Manufacturing Engineering (Process Development) to achieve company objectives and resolve project issues
  4. Communicates project status and issues in a timely, clear, and appropriate manner to the organization
  5. Analyzes and/or directs the analysis of research data to assure robust/repeatable manufacturing processes
  6. Confers with appropriate departments, resources, and/or outside services to prepare process modifications, clarify problems and develop processes
  7. Plans and/or prepares quality system documentation, specifications, and detailed drawings
  8. Drafts and executes process validations
  9. Manages required builds for new product development in a pilot or production setting, including training of operators and coordination with production planning
  10. Review and develop manufacturing documentation (MP, Routers, BOM, etc.)
  • Required Qualifications for Project Group Lead
    1. BS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
    2. 3-6 years experience in medical device industry
    3. Experience in Neurointerventional procedures
    4. Computer skills including Word, Excel, Project, and SolidWorks

    Required Qualifications for Staff Engineer
    1. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Material Science Engineering
    2. A minimum of eight (8) years of medical device industry experience.
    3. Experience with Guidewire and Balloon Catheters.
    4. Statistical Knowledge (Green Belt or Black Belt)

    Desired Qualifications
    1. Good written and oral communication
    2. Knowledge of raw material and suppliers
    3. Good problem solving and conflict management skills
    4. Knowledge of statistical tools including Design of Experiments (DOE) and Cpk for process development characterization and optimization preferred
    5. Proficiency in Solidworks and fixture design preferred

    Additional Information
    • The primary work location for this position is Aliso Viejo, CA (company headquarters).
