Engineer I, Environmental Health & Safety - CR

Position Overview

This Engineer must use Engineering/Technical skills and knowledge of engineering/scientific concepts, procedures, standards, and industry awareness to maintain multi-systems and programs, in order to identify and resolve EHS issues on the second shift. This individual will ensure compliance with Safety, Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomics National/International requirements. Job duties:
  • Maintain and audit Fatality Prevention programs compliance (Control of Hazardous Energies, Electrical Safety, Confined Spaces and Fall Protection).
  • Participate and support investigations of EHS incidents/accidents .
  • Conduct plant EHS self-assessments.
  • Create and maintain Fire Protection and Life Safety systems programs.
  • Ensure compliance with National EHS requirements (Occupational Health Committee meetings, Emergencies and Occupational Health Plan regularly updated, others).
  • Deliver EHS trainings to MVCR employees and contractor workers.
  • Execute Work permits and Ergo-assessments.
  • Support Industrial Hygiene tasks for Chemical Exposure, Noise and Lighting.
  • Maintain the Stretching Program.
  • Coordinate and support site brigade trainings, drills, practices, equipment required, others.
  • Coordinate Safety and Personal Protective equipment purchases and delivery to employees.
  • Participate and support Business Continuity Plan.

    1. Bachelor’s degree in EHS studies from an accredited university.
    2. Two to five (1-3) years of Environmental, Health and Safety experience.
    3. Proficient computer skills.
    4. Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
    5. English level 60%

    2. Ability to work closely with Supervisors and Production employees.
