Position Overview

The Procurement Planning Data Analyst Intern is responsible for supporting the Procurement function while learning the basis of material & service purchasing, material inventory management & supplier management. This includes, gathering, analyzing data to create predictive modeling analysis for Material, Inventory and Suppliers in order to achieve cost reduction and inventory optimization while levering the supplier capacity. Typical duties include:

  • Perform data gathering, cleaning, analysis and enrichment from various data sources to support operational and procurement decisions

  • Assess and identify criteria to validate the data source accuracy for future mapping

  • Evaluate different areas/opportunities to keep data integrity

  • Create dashboard and reports with application to measure performance against process requirements and to track improvement projects

  • Develop an efficient and accurate system for monitoring data trend for purchasing activities, supply risk management, supplier score card and procurement dashboard

  • Manage the Procurement data repository and system of record

  • Conduct process mapping and create work instruction for the Procurement function

  • Develop positive relationships with internal stakeholders

  • Required Qualifications

    • Working towards a BS degree majoring in Statistics & Data Science, Computer Science or Business Analytic

    • Experience with multiple statistical languages, data processing, and data analytics

    • Strong background in data mining and statistical analysis

    • Knowledge of data visualization tools (example: Power BI)

    • Proficient in Excel

    • Strong analytical and organization skills

    • Experience working effectively and confidently in a team environment

    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with a customer service focus

    • Detail-oriented approach to tasks and problem solving

    • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities with attention to detail

    • Able to work with multiple Associates and prioritize projects to meet deadlines

    • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 and Office 365 (Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, Word and Excel)

    Desired Qualifications
