Manager, Manufacturing Chemistry

Position Overview

Manages and supports projects for all aspects of the MicroVention ManufacturingChemistry team, including process transfers. Job duties:
  • Supports and leads teams in the transfer of medical device manufacturing between sites, including writing or verifying specifications, maintaining production process, designing fixtures and validating processes and equipment.
  • Manages the technology transfer of chemical related products including processes and analysis from R&D to manufacturing.
  • Manages chemical process development/optimization activities for yield and cost optimized workflows.
  • Integrates activities between departments to solve problems associated with sustaining product, which include improvements to existing processes and new technology.
  • Analyzes and/or directs the analysis of research data to assure robust/repeatable manufacturing processes.
  • Manages required builds for new product development in a pilot or production setting, including training of Assemblers and coordination with production planning.
  • Develops and reviews manufacturing documentation (e.g. MP, BR, BOM, etc.).
  • Champions the use and implementation of Lean, Six Sigma and 5s methodologies.
  • Leads and develops direct reports.
  • Mentors Interns, Engineers and Technicians.
  • Presents and provides input to monthly/quarterly Management Reviews.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.

Salary Range:
$124,497 - $156,510

(Compensation could be higher based on education, experience and skill set)

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field.
    2. A minimum of seven (7) years of professional work experience within the medical device or equivalent industry.
    3. A minimum of one (1) year of leadership or supervisory responsibility/experience.
    4. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    5. Project management skills.
    6. Proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, project and statistical software.
    Desired Qualifications
    1. Ability to reading and prepare technical documentation.
    2. Knowledge of medical and technical development.
    3. Background in Lean/Six Sigma techniques.
    4. Proven history managing multiple projects and multiple teams.
    5. Good problem solving and conflict management skills.
    6. Computer skills including Word, Excel, statistical software.
