Position Overview

Serve a dual role by managing Process Engineering/Machine shop, including the design and building of custom tooling and equipment, as well as by providing oversight of Equipment sustainment teams. Job duties:
  • Integrate activities between departments to solve problems associated with sustaining product, which includes improvements to existing processes, tooling/equipment, and new technology.
  • Take a proactive and strategic approach to enhance the technology of R&D and Manufacturing Engineering Teams to improve tooling, quality, and throughput.
  • Direct the development and implementation of Lean, Six Sigma, and 5s methodologies in the equipment area.
  • Create Automation strategy, timelines for implementing new machinery, and executive presentation to gain support and funding.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, development, and internal partners, from product definition through mass production.
  • Experience with Extrusion, Molding, and 3D printing technologies.
  • Automate existing manual process via internal, external talents, suppliers.
  • Responsible for equipment maintenance and calibration strategies.
  • Oversee professional development and mentoring of engineers, technicians, and interns.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Details

    1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    2. A minimum of ten (10) years of related manufacturing experience.
    3. A minimum of three (3) years of management experience.
    4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    5. Project management experience required.
    6. Excellent analytical skills to produce accurate data and solution proposal.
    7. Ability to prepare and review technical documentation.
    8. Knowledge of medical and technical development.
    9. Solid understanding of Lean/Six Sigma techniques.
    10. Proficiency in SolidWorks, statistical software, and MS Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
    Desired Qualifications
    1. Medical device industry experience a plus.
    2. Proven success managing multiple teams and meeting project deadlines.
    3. Cooperative, multidisciplinary approach to working cross functionally with technical teams and vendors.
