Position Overview

The Director, Legal Affairs will assist in the management of corporate legal matters domestically and internationally for a globally focused, high technology corporation. Tasks will include strategic legal counseling, contract negotiations and drafting, business litigation management, litigation management, and corporate governance matters. Will provide legal advice to the headquarters and to the various business functions internationally, including sales and marketing, operations, human resources, clinical and regulatory. Will negotiate corporate transactions and prepare related documentation. Must be able to perform legal assignments with a high degree of independence requiring extensive experience, skill and knowledge. Will perform legal work, conduct research and provide legal support and counsel to various functions. Typical job duties:
  • Manages various aspects of the domestic and international contracts function, including negotiating and drafting agreements, with particular focus on hospital sales contracts and RFP’s, supply agreements, quality agreements, distribution agreements, clinical trial agreements, consulting agreements, and related matters.
  • Assists in the management of business litigation matters.
  • Assists in the advice and counsel on global healthcare compliance laws and regulations, including anti-corruption, anti-kickback, fraud and abuse and reimbursement.
  • Assists in corporate governance matters.
  • Completes special projects as requested.
    1. J.D. from an accredited law school
    2. Minimum of 15 years of legal experience in a relevant law firm or corporate setting.
    3. Other significant educational or work experience related to the position.
    4. Member of California State Bar.
    5. Medical device, pharmaceutical or other healthcare-related experience.
    6. Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
