Position Overview

Responsible for managing all operations activities performed by EH&S Operations Staff, must use Engineering/Technical skills and knowledge of engineering/scientific concepts, procedures, standards, and industry awareness to create and maintain multi-systems and programs in order to identify and resolve EHS emerging issues. This individual will be in charge of the EHS Operations staff with the responsibility to initiate, implement, and complete projects and activities to keep and improve EHS standards and processes to impact employee’s safety and wellbeing within the facility. Job duties:
  • Ensure compliance with national regulations related with occupational health and safety.
  • Complete internal and external EHS compliance reports and data analysis.
  • Develop and execute the EHS integrated management system.
  • Lead the certification and recertification process YOY of ISO 45001, ISO 50001, and ISO 14001.
  • Lead and execute plant EHS self-assessments and/or compliance assurance audits.
  • Modify as required and ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Emergency Plan.
  • Ensure the appropriate execution of EHS operational controls within the 3 buildings.
  • Improve and implement site emergency protocols and ensure drills execution.
  • Lead site Emergency Response Team for the 3 buildings.
  • Lead the efforts to achieve INS Homologation award YOY.
  • Lead site safety committee.
  • Lead employee’s awareness efforts such as activities and campaigns.
  • Serve as a part of plant core teams and Ops meetings.
  • Implement, lead, and sustain business continuity plan.
  • Ensure full compliance with actions and findings closure on time, incident investigation completions, and EHS training matrix.
  • Support building EHS Engineers with day-to-day operations activities and tasks related to PPE acquisition and delivery, job hazard analysis, COHE, machine guarding, inert gases, ergonomics, emergency equipment maintenance, etc.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

    1. Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university.
    2. Five plus (5+) years of experience of Environmental, Health and Safety experience.
    3. Five (5+) years of manufacturing and/or plant experience.
    4. Two (2+) years leading a work team.
    5. Proficient computer skills and data analysis.
    Desired Qualifications
    1. Current professional certification from recognized EHS entities preferred.
    2. Able to effectively influence and communicate at all levels, in both Spanish and English.
    3. Ability to work closely with Top Management, Supervisors and Production employees.
    4. Ability to self-direct and lead an operations team.
