Position Overview

Lead, facilitate, and support the transfer of new and existing products to Microvention’s facility in Costa Rica. Plan and execute process development and process validation studies supporting product transfers and new product introductions. Assure adherence to internal procedures / quality guidelines and external regulatory requirements. The individual in this position will contribute to cross-functional teams from various functions. Job duties:
  • Supports and leads teams in the transfer of medical device manufacturing between sites. Including writing or verifying specifications, maintaining production process, designing fixtures and validating processes & equipment.
  • Achieves operational objectives by contributing Information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
  • Champions the use and implementation of Lean, Six Sigma and 5s methodologies.
  • Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Leads and develops direct reports.
  • Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance and operational requirements to determine project specifications.
  • Consults with engineering relative to modification of machines and equipment to improve production and quality of product.
  • Effectively manages multiple projects simultaneously leveraging required and available resources as needed.
  • Provides regular updates to management in regard to the progress of the different transfers.
  • Mentors interne, engineers and technicians.

    1. Working knowledge of standard machine stop equipment and process.
    2. Knowledge of medical and technical development.
    3. Computer skills including Word, Excel, statistical Software, Solid Works.
    4. Background in Lean/Six Sigma Techniques.
    5. Proficient in Minitab, Statistics, etc.
    6. Mechanical Industrial, Electrical Engineer.
    7. 5 years of experience in medical industry transferring lines.
    8. At least 4 years of managerial experience.
    9. Fully Bilingual.
    10. Ability to Work with cross-functional teams.
    11. US Visa approved and Up to date Passport.
    12. Availability to travel 5% of the time 13. Strong project management and organizational change management skills is required.
