Position Overview

Engineer II/Sr, R&D
Supports the development of medical device products with work including writing or verifying specifications, designing and/or specifying new products, fixtures, test processes, equipment, and specifying raw materials to ensure the concepts and/or prototypes meet their requirements.

Job Duties
  • Develop new product concepts and products
  • Engineering design and process development
  • Generate intellectual property, write invention disclosures
  • Supervise assemblers, technicians, and specialists
  • Largely self-directed, capable of meeting project goals with moderate supervision
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

  • Required Qualifications
    Senior Engineer, R&D
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Material Science Engineering
    • Minimum of six (6) years of medical device industry experience
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Computer skills including Word, Excel, and CAD (SolidWorks proficiency required)

    Engineer II, R&D
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Material Science Engineering
    • Minimum three (3) years of medical device industry experience, OR Master’s degree plus one (1) year of medical device industry experience (one year must include six (6) months of manufacturing engineering experience)
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills

    Desired Qualifications
    Senior Engineer, R&D
    • Ability to design and development of medical devices
    • Ability to read and prepare technical documentation
    • Working knowledge of standard machine shop equipment and processes and medical device manufacturing equipment and processes
    • Knowledge of medical and technical development
