Compliance Intern

The Compliance Internwill work under the direction of the Healthcare Compliance Director and Compliance Counsel to gain hands-on professional experience in Healthcare and Anti-Corruption Compliance. The MVI Compliance Program works with all aspects of the business to promote a culture of ethics and integrity. The Compliance Department works to prevent, identify, and respond to company risks through policies, trainings, due diligence, controls, and monitoring. Assigned projects may include:
  • Perform research and draft memoranda/presentations regarding industry standards, best practices, and global anti-corruption laws.
  • Prepare training materials regarding various Compliance topics, including anti-corruption, time & expense reports, conflicts of interest, and Healthcare Professional interactions.
  • Create content of the Compliance newsletter regarding recent developments in the industry.
  • Assist with third party due diligence, background checks, and integrity risk assessments to identify corruption, fraud and reputational risks.
  • Assist with compliance monitoring of time & expense reports, invoices, and third parties.
  • Assist the Compliance team with supporting and advising internal clients and business units.
  • Perform other administrative tasks and special projects related to the Compliance function.
  • Qualifications
    1. Currently enrolled full-time at an accredited university.
    2. Interest in learning about role of Compliance at a Medical Device company.
    3. Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
    4. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

    2. Motivated self-starter who exercises high level of discretion and business judgment to complete tasks.
    3. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
    4. Acute attention to detail, excellent organizational and project coordination.
    5. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
    6. Interest and/or coursework in Compliance, Ethics, Internal Controls, Audit, or Legal.
    Additional Information
    • Depending on the COVID-19 situation, the position can be on-site, virtual or a “hybrid” of the two.
    • The primary work location for this position is Aliso Viejo, CA (company headquarters).
    • Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. and not require visa sponsorship.
