Position Overview

The Supplier Quality Technician (Specialist) performs technical tasks and verifies documentation to support the selection, evaluation and monitoring of suppliers. Job duties:
  • Provide assistance to the Engineers and Managers with gathering information to evaluate and qualify potential new suppliers.
  • Provide support with monitoring and evaluating current approved suppliers by collecting assessment surveys, current certificates, and inspection history.
  • Assist with contacting suppliers regarding component quality issues, nonconformance reports (NCRs) and supplier corrective action requests (SCARs).
  • Provide support with escalating supplier quality issues discovered in receiving inspection.
  • Assist the supplier containment and disposition process (return to vendor, scrap, sort,rework) to improve problem resolution cycle time to maintain quality organization metrics.
  • Assist and promote supplier follow-up regarding audit findings.
  • Assist with maintaining supplier files.
  • Support supplier scorecard process.
  • Provide support with the approved supplier list update process and supplier change process.
  • May notify suppliers for any drawing specification changes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
    1. High school diploma or equivalent.
    2. Two (2) to three (3) years related experience in Quality, Manufacturing or R&D.
    3. Computer skills including Word, Excel, Minitab. Competency to learn new technical software.
    4. Good communication skills, including communication with associates in other departments and contacts outside of the company.
    5. Knowledge of medical product manufacturing and quality.

    1. Bachelor's Degree
    2. Experience addressing medical device component nonconformances.
    3. Experience communicating with suppliers.
    4. Experience working with technical documentation.
