Manage the implementation and maintenance of internal controls compliant with JSOX by leveraging controls to optimize operational benefits throughout the organization and supporting J-Sox requirements and other control activities within the financial and IT processes. Job duties:
  • Manage the implementation and maintenance of internal controls compliant with JSOX.
  • Streamline and automate control activities within the financial and IT processes for compliance with JSOX.
  • Identify risks across the company and create and maintain a companywide risk control matrix.
  • Coordinate and oversee the implementation of internal controls and operating effectiveness across corporate departments and division organizations.
  • Ensure documentation for each identified process includes process narratives, flow charts, and risk control matrices; provide regular process documentation updates.
  • Develop, design, and coordinate the audit procedures of the company's internal controls; provide assistance with testing of key reports, spreadsheets, and JSOX controls.
  • Proactively identify and monitor process and system changes resulting from the growth of corporate transaction volumes, process automation, software application changes, and accounting integration in connection with corporate change, which have a direct impact on the company's financial statements and related disclosures.
  • Monitor, test, and evaluate operating effectiveness of internal controls after implementation.
  • Maintain corporate accounting policies and monitor entire organization for compliance.
  • Become an expert user within Blackline and Concur.
  • Assist with various activities and reports, including annual and quarterly financial statements, annual audit and quarterly review efforts, technical accounting analyses, customary month-end closing procedures, integrating acquisitions, and other corporate or financial reporting needs as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
    1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or related field.
    2. Six to eight (6 - 8) years of experience in accounting/SOX, preferably with a large national accounting firm.
    3. In-depth understanding of IFRS, internal controls, and experience with JSOX or SOX testing and documentation.
    4. Strong financial process acumen.
    5. Proven ability to review processes and procedures, document them clearly and concisely, and subsequently test them according to company protocols.
    6. Excellent Excel skills.
    7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    8. Ability to work with people across diverse fields and backgrounds.
    9. Must be detail oriented and possess strong accounting and organizational skills.
    10. Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
    11. Ability to travel to divisional locations.
    Desired Qualifications
    1. Active CPA or CIA preferred.
    2. Life Sciences experience a plus
