This position is responsible for the overall cash application process. Controls all activities in the accounts receivable function. Manages collection activities such as sending follow-up inquiries, negotiating with past due accounts, resolving conflicts and keeping track of cash receipts. Prepares cash forecast of monthly collections. Job duties:
  • Assures timely collection and build of customer relationships including all Terumo entities.
  • Monitors and reports bank deposits, including but not limited to Lockbox, Credit Cards, Wires, ACH and remote deposits.
  • Manages cash applications and ensures all cash receipts are applied properly and accurately.
  • Develops relationships with Sales Support, NA Sales, and Supply Chain departments.
  • Conducts credit checks on all new customers, establishes and recommends credit limits.
  • Makes recommendations to improve quality of collection procedures.
  • Reviews C1 customer credit holds and releases customer orders timely, and supports TMC’s afterhours customer credit holds.
  • Annually conducts credit limit analysis for domestic and international accounts.
  • Leads monthly conference calls to review domestic and international AR aging.
  • Adheres strictly to the company’s internal controls and quarterly J-Sox sub certification.
  • Reviews and manages unclaimed property annually and makes recommendations.
  • Must have the ability to reconcile the AR sub ledger to GL.
  • Trains, mentors and fosters development of staff.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.

    1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business or equivalent.
    2. Seven (7) to nine (9) years of experience in credit and collections.
    3. Minimum of five (5) years of managerial experience; required to manage staff of 2-3.
    4. Strong US GAAP and IFRS technical accounting skills.
    5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    6. Must assume responsibility for timeliness of work completion and perform to meet strict deadlines.
    7. Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
    8. Superior spreadsheet skills with a good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
    9. Knowledge and understanding of D&B reporting.
    Desired Qualifications
    1. Knowledge of JDE/SAP Accounting or similar software is a plus.
    2. Skill in analyzing and interpreting financial data.
    3. High degree of accuracy in working with large amounts of data.
