Position Overview

This role will serve in both strategic and tactical roles in planning, managing and delivering Information Technology solutions and applications to meet both departmental and enterprise-wide business needs within an integrated SAP systems landscape. This is a management level position leading a team of Applications and Support Specialists, Systems Analysts, and Developers responsible for managing the company’s portfolio of business applications and related projects. This position has significant impact in all areas of the company and ensures that mission critical services and applications are provided in a timely and efficient manner. Participate in the continued development and execution of MicroVention’s enterprise systems roadmap. Job duties:
  • Recruit, lead, manage, mentor, and provide technical vision for IT Applications staff to ensure a highly motivated, positive, and productive team consistent with MicroVention’s corporate culture and core values.
  • Plan and prioritize the work activities of assigned staff. Resolve issues and work to develop associates’ skills. Conduct performance reviews for direct reports.
  • Develop goals, strategies and projects across the team that align with strategic business initiatives.
  • Create, maintain, and enforce adherence to relevant IT policies and procedures.
  • Lead, participate in, and provide resources to support project management efforts related to implementation of new technologies and enhancements of existing software.
  • Build reliable, repeatable project methodologies which follow standard software development lifecycle (SDLC) procedures.
  • Adhere to end-to-end change control and release management processes to ensure all proposed changes to IT Applications are thoroughly evaluated for business impact, analyzed, approved, tested, promoted, and implemented.
  • Coordinate support for user acceptance testing and software validation efforts to ensure compliance to regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure delivery of projects on time, within budget, and with high level of quality.
  • Responsible for IT Application team’s utilization of corporate helpdesk ticketing system, development of related reports, and metrics for IT Director’s review.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage relationships and negotiate with external vendors and consultants to ensure project goals and service levels are met and maintained.
  • Utilize the core capabilities of available IT applications and technologies to make recommendations for streamlining, automating, and optimizing various business processes.
  • Research and recommend emerging technologies, toolsets, applications, and systems, considering factors such as cost savings, user adoption, standardization/simplification, flexibility, and reuse.
  • Identify process challenges and implement appropriate corrections or enhancements.
  • Manage stakeholder communications and escalations within the organization.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Business, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    2. Experience working within an integrated SAP systems environment.
    3. A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in managing integrated enterprise platforms including ERP, PLM or MES systems.
    4. A minimum of two (2) years of previous IT management experience.
    5. General knowledge of FDA, SOX, and other auditable data management requirements.
    Desired Qualifications
    1. Familiarity with common enterprise business application platforms and software systems used within manufacturing environments such as enterprise resource planning (ERP), quality management systems (QMS), product lifecycle management (PLM), manufacturing execution systems (MES), business process/workflow systems, and mobile software technologies.
    2. Ability to research and provide solutions for system and/or application issues, troubleshoot software issues, work effectively with technical consultants and users.
    3. Understanding of organizational goals, objectives, and business processes.
    4. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to find creative solutions to technical challenges by utilizing available toolsets.
    5. Relevant medical device industry experience a plus.
    6. Strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
    7. Detail oriented and organized.
    8. Ability to manage people and projects from inception through to completion with minimal supervision.
    9. A patient and professional demeanor, along with a desire to learn all aspects of the business.
