FRED X offers the same precise, predictable placement andimmediate opening of the FRED™ device – now with X Technology.

Derived from over 30 years of study and use at Terumo, X Technology is a nanoscale enhancement to the entire surface of the FRED device, formed with a covalent bond. Unlike other surface modifications, X Technology creates a protective hydration layer around the device that reduces platelet adhesion and simultaneously allows for endothelial cell attachment and growth.

FRED X is designed to reduce material thrombogenicity while also maintaining the natural healing response of the vessel.2 3 4 5  FRED X also features improved device delivery and resheathing.3 

  • FRED X demonstrates a reduction in material thrombogenicity compared to a bare flow diverter in in-vitro testing.

  • X Technology demonstrates similar cellular adhesion to a bare device as demonstrated in in-vivo and in-vitro testing.

  • FRED X 2.5mm and 3.0mm diameter devices are deliverable through Headway 21 and have no distal lead wire.

Product Compatibility:

FRED™ X 2.5-3.0 mm devices are designed to be delivered through the 0.021” Headway 21 Microcatheter.

FRED™ X 3.5-5.5 mm devices are designed to be delivered through the 0.027” Headway 27 Microcatheter.

The SOFIA™ family of catheters can be used for tri-axial support.
